So here it is! My first blog. I never thought this day would come as I hate being in the spotlight and probably deep down have a fear of failure so it’s taken me a while to pluck up the courage. But thanks to some encouraging words from friends and family and several self help books (with titles such as Stop Talking, Start Doing!) in my Christmas stockings courtesy of the fiancé, I am finally doing this.

I’ve been interested in design for a good while now. My friends, family and colleagues have heard me talk about it over and over and have probably been thinking that it’s an unusual side hobby for me.  Despite never having had a scholarly background in product design aside from a short course at Central St Martins (Christmas present from the fiancé, Okay I get the HINT!), I’ve always been interested in how things work and ways they could be improved. I love products that serve more than one purpose or products that serve a specific purpose well and stylishly. I believe products should make our lives easier, not more complicated (clichéd I know, but it’s the truth).

I’ve curated products that fascinate me and have solved some of my life’s (yes, first world!) problems. I hope to eventually get some of my own doodles realised but that will be a long way off so for now, it is my hope that my reviews will help make your lives easier and develop your curious minds to question designs that are not useful for us, or worse, our environmental future, by creating financial and landfill waste (through cheap products that you will only grumble about and wish you hadn’t bought, but now can’t throw away because you’ve already spent the money, and will end up replacing anyway because of the poor quality)!

I hope you enjoy this space as much as I have enjoyed making it for you!

Hugs and kisses,

PS. It is my aim to give back (sounds clichéd but gives good karma!) so I am looking into donating from my website each month to charity. Suggestions welcome!

PPS. I have not been paid for any of my posts or any of the products mentioned here on this website.
